Jean-Paul Forceville talks about the impact of the new European VAT rules at the "Leaders in Logistic Summit"
On Tuesday, March 22, the "Leaders in Logistic Summit" was held in Copenhagen, bringing together decision-makers and professionals from the postal and logistics sector. Jean-Paul Forceville took part in a panel discussion on the impact of the new European VAT changes, alongside representatives from UPS, the Romanian Post Office and Copenhagen Economics.
Jean-Paul Forceville emphasized that Posts must transform their operational and technological processes to comply with European customs, security and tax rules. He explained the regulations and demonstrated the difficulties encountered in the implementation, in particular for the single window registration for e-commerce platforms (IOSS).
This multidimensional transformation has required close collaboration over several years with the European and French authorities, e-commerce market players, logistics partners and finally with other non-European posts.
For Jean-Paul Forceville: "La Poste's ambition is to remain a major player in e-commerce in a complex economic, political and social context. To achieve this, it has deployed colossal resources to comply with regulatory requirements and to use them as a long-term opportunity. These regulations have a strong strategic impact on European economic policy. La Poste and other European Posts are committed to this vision.”
