Year of the Tiger celebrated by La Poste, Groupe

On Saturday 22 January, La Poste celebrated the Chinese New Year. For the occasion, Philaposte unveiled two blocks of stamps dedicated to the "Year of the Tiger".

The event was attended by Philippe Wahl, Chairman and CEO of La Poste Groupe, H.E. Lu Shaye, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to France, Alexis Govciyan, Paris Councillor and representative of Delphine Burkli, Mayor of the 9th arrondissement of Paris.

The artist Chen Jiang Hong conceived and designed the two blocks of stamps, which were unveiled in front of the personalities mentioned, as well as the Chinese and French media.

Mr LU Shaye said: "This ceremony has become almost a ritual and a highlight for Chinese and French stamp lovers. In China, the tiger is considered the king of animals, the symbol of justice, power and majesty."

Philippe Wahl wished "a Happy New Year 2022 - Happy New Year to all - Happy Tiger Year!"

"As every year, the issue of this stamp dedicated to the Chinese New Year is a great opportunity to recognise the links between our two countries," said Jean-Paul Forceville, who also attended the ceremony.
